Bolin was trying his best not to let his true thoughts show on his face. A drooling grin while staring blatantly at the avatar’s naked breasts, while accurate to his mental state at the time, would have been contrary to Bolin’s cultivated wise-guy persona. He had to look sauve, confident, all the while his brain cells did a conga line routine to the beat of “She’s NAKED! Yeah! Naked! Yeah! Inthebathwithme-yeah!”
“You know, you’re not really supposed to wear clothes in the bath-lodge.” Korra noted calmly, slipping into the near-boiling water behind him.
“Is that another Southern Water Tribe tradition you forgot to mention? Like telling the new-comer he has to eat the first ceremonial sea-slug eyeball?” Bolin joked, back stiffening as he felt Korra slide her arms around his shoulders.
“Aw, my dad was just joking. You should take it as a compliment. He only hazes the ones he likes.”
Bolin leaned his as-of-so-far still dry head against Korra’s shoulder. “What does he do to the ones he doesn’t like?” He smiled as he said it, but the hard swallow that followed the question gave away his lingering doubts.
“Don’t worry, Dad’s tame. He knows that anyone who’d put up with me long enough to make it all the way down here has to be worth a shot.” She tightened her grasp around Bolin’s neck, her breasts pressing deliciously against his heated skin.
“More importantly,” she grinned, “why are you still in those trunks?”

Can I say something about this scene really quick?
I remember watching the premiere of the final episode, with high hopes of a great closure. Oh, and did we get it. The climatic battle had my sister and I’s noses plastered on the screen, never blinking once.
And then, it was over.
I gotta admit it, I was scared that they were just gonna end it with some ambiguous conclusion. Every time the scene transitioned, I would yell, “OH THANK GOD IT’S NOT DONE YET.”
So we have Zuko’s coronation, and the famous Kataang kiss closing up such a great show.
…and then we have this scene.
Although it’s highly likely that the answer to Ursa’s whereabouts will be revealed in the near future, part of me still thinks that…there was another reason why Bryke put this in there.
This was the series finale. End of the story. So why add another cliffhanger?
…because Bryke wanted to let us know that they weren’t done yet. They still had more ideas, and they still wanted us to be invested in the story. They had much more in store planned ahead.
I know that there may be other reasons why this scene was added, we may never know, or this was just their plan from the start, but I personally think that this odd scene was just a hint at things to come. That Bryke wasn’t finished. I just love to think about it this way ‘cause for so long we were kinda left out in the blank, with only the live-action movie to look forward too.
Idk, just a random thought. They did mention in SDCC 2008 that they had more ideas, if I remember correctly.
I just like the idea that Bryke, although it may not have been on purpose, was subconsciously telling us that they weren’t letting go of the Avatar-verse just yet.

Worst Police Chief Ever
Location: Police Headquarters, Downtown Republic City
I really loved this scene. Chief Saikhan actually shudders when Tenzin calls him out, which for me just totally reinforces how powerful Tenzin can be, how much of a force to be reckoned with he is. Saikhan seems like a kind of manipulable and less assured figure, and he only really can even stand up to Tenzin because he knows he has Tarrlok’s complete backing and support. This further supports my theory that Lin Beifong will be reinstalled as Chief by season’s end, or at least by the end of the series.
